Meet Sky
Hello, I’m Sky. I arrived at Serenity Lane in the summer, this is my first winter at the farm. My previous owners loved me, but they had to move from our farm and couldn’t find anywhere where I could come with them, so they found a good home for me instead.
I’m the oldest horse here, I’m 27 years old - that’s pretty old for a horse. Sometimes when horses get older like me, our teeth wear down so much that we can’t chew hay really well, especially if the hay is coarse, so now I get soaked hay cubes, which is hay cut into little pieces so I can easily eat it.
I’m a calm guy and I walk really well on a lead, especially compared with some of my barn mates. My ears are usually back, but that doesn’t mean I’m grumpy, I just like to put them like that!
WhatVisitors Are Saying
“I had the privilege of visiting Serenity Lane Animal Sanctuary last week. During my visit, I met the founders, Carolyn Carr and Paul Moed, and was greeted with warmth and kindness. As well, I interacted with the beautiful rescue animals that were friendly and approachable. I learned about Lamas too and met a recent rescue, Lily. I highly recommend a visit to this rescue! I enjoyed it so much.”

“We had a great tour today! We loved meeting all the animals and being able to get close and pet many of them. The owners were fantastic! They were welcoming and told us various stories about how the animals came to reside at the farm. The tour was not rushed and was well worth it. Highly recommend!”
