Meet Our Residents!

The animals that you'll find on our farm come from a variety of backgrounds. While not all of them would be considered rescues (our sheep were quite spoiled by their previous owners), they are all part of our farm sanctuary and are in their forever home. We currently have 108 farm animals.

Horses

There are 7.5 horses who live here. Three live outside all year with a shelter and the other 4.5 live in the upper barn and go outside to graze.

Horses are "an expensive hobby" and several of our horses came here when there owners could no longer support them financially.

Cows

There are four highland cows, who were not rescued, and four former dairy steers living here. The lifespan of a male born in the dairy industry is not long. The four boys will live out their lives here.

Sheep

Our three Calico sheep, who were not rescued, are some of our longtime residents. They used to roam all over the property with their Nigerian goat friends.

Mini Pigs

There is no guarantees of a small mini pig. Micro and teacup pigs don't exist!!! Mini pigs can weigh up to 300 lbs, most of our 18 minipigs are small at less than 100 lbs

Ducks

We have 3 larger, white Pekin duck and 7 smaller ducks that are a mixture of breeds.

Ducks form bonded pairs and will fight off (and oust completely) other flock members. It is important to have the right ratio of make to female ducks.

Alpacas & Llama

We have 18 alpacas and they are all females. Males and females should be kept separated on a farm. Alpacas are part of the camel family and come from South America. Alpaca fibre is warmer than sheep wool and less itchy!

Goats

We have 12 goats. and they are a variety of breeds. 7 were rescues, 5 were born on the farm because their mothers were pregnant when they arrived.

Donkeys

Our 2 donkeys share a stall in the upper barn with the horses. Donkeys need be in pastures without a lot of grass because they are from arid regions and can get sick from eating too much grass.

Big Pigs

These are the pigs typically found in the pork industry, ours are all pink with big ears we refer to as satellite dishes. They can grow up to 800lbs!

Rabbits

Our 24 rabbits are all up for adoption

Rainbow Bridge

Our residents that have crossed the rainbow bridge and are waiting for their friends on the other side.

Tortoise

We are a farm sanctuary, but I couldn't say no to this guy!
